How & When Sellers Get Paid
When you sell on Arteify, your money is protected and the process is simple and transparent. Here is exactly how and when you are paid.
The short version
- The buyer pays Arteify up front — so you dispatch knowing the money is secured.
- Once payment has cleared and dispatch is confirmed, your payout is released.
- You receive the sale price minus your seller commission (0% for your first six months, then a flat 8%).
- The buyer’s 10% premium is theirs to pay — it never comes out of your price.
- Every payout is itemised: hammer price, commission and any resale royalty, line by line.
Step by step
- The buyer pays securely. Payment is taken through Stripe at checkout, so funds are confirmed before anything ships.
- You dispatch. Arrange collection with a vetted Arteify logistics partner (professional, insured packing and delivery). Tracking is recorded against the order.
- Dispatch is confirmed. Once the item is on its way with tracking logged, your payout is calculated.
- You are paid. You receive the sale price less your commission, by bank transfer to the account on your seller profile.
- You get a clear statement. Every sale is reconciled line by line — hammer, commission and any Artist’s Resale Right royalty shown separately.
Your fees, in plain terms
| Seller commission | 0% for your first 6 months, then a flat 8% of the sale price. Nothing to pay if a piece does not sell. |
| Buyer’s premium | 10%, paid by the buyer and shown to them before they commit. It is never deducted from your price. |
| VAT | Arteify is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to commission or premium. Your own VAT position is set on your account and applied to your listings. |
| Resale royalty | Where the Artist’s Resale Right applies, it is calculated and itemised separately on the order. |
Secure by design
Because the buyer pays before dispatch, you are never out of pocket for shipping a sold piece. We are rolling out fully automated escrow payouts through Stripe Connect, which will release your funds the moment dispatch is confirmed. Until then, payouts are settled promptly on confirmation and reconciled on your statement.
