Authentication
Confidence is the whole point of Arteify. Every work we list carries a visible level of assurance, so you know exactly what stands behind a piece before you commit — not after.
Three levels of assurance
Not all provenance is equal, so we label it plainly. Every listing shows one of three trust tiers:
- Arteify Verified — independently examined by a credentialled specialist, with a Certificate of Authenticity on file. Our strongest assurance.
- Provenance-Backed — a documented provenance or attribution is on record: ownership history, maker, or supporting evidence.
- Seller-Declared — described by the seller, with no independent record yet, and priced accordingly.

What our specialists check
- Provenance & ownership — the chain of custody and any exhibition or sale history.
- Attribution — signatures, hallmarks, foundry marks, edition numbers and maker evidence.
- Condition — a documented assessment, with a Condition Report where relevant.
- Documentation — certificates, receipts, catalogues raisonnés and prior valuations.
The Provenance Passport
Verified works carry a living provenance record that travels with the piece and transfers automatically to the new owner on resale — no paperwork, no gaps in the chain.
Buying with confidence
Every purchase is covered by Arteify Buyer Protection. If a work is materially not as described, we put it right. Questions about a specific lot? Talk to our team — we are glad to walk you through the evidence before you bid or buy.
