Condition Reports
Know before you bid
A condition report is an independent, plain-language assessment of a work’s physical state — so you can bid or buy with your eyes open.
What a report covers
- Surface — the state of the paint, patina, glaze or finish, and any wear.
- Structure — the integrity of the support, frame, joints or base.
- Restoration & repair — earlier interventions, overpaint or replaced parts, where evident.
- Losses & faults — chips, cracks, tears, foxing, losses or other areas of concern.
A report describes condition; it is not a valuation, nor a guarantee of future stability.
How to request one
On many lots a condition report can be requested straight from the listing. For anything else, email info@arteify.com with the lot or item reference and we’ll arrange it.
What to expect
Reports are prepared by specialists and, where the seller and work allow, are typically returned within a couple of working days. Additional images can usually be provided on request.
